Text messaging

JobCostHQ sends account and service text messages to the people who use it. This page explains what we send, how people agree to receive texts, and how to stop them.

What we send

Sign-in codes.
Schedule and job reminders for you and your crew.
Replies to questions you send to support.

We do not send marketing or promotional texts. Texts are optional: you can use JobCostHQ without agreeing to them, and sign-in codes then come by email.

How people agree to receive texts

Invitation. A person’s company invites them to JobCostHQ. If the company has the person’s mobile number, the company records how the person agreed to get texts (they signed a paper form, typed their own number in JobCostHQ, or said yes). No text goes out until the company has recorded that.
First open, on the person’s own phone. The person sees the screen below and agrees for themselves. Nothing is ticked in advance.
Confirmation. After they agree, they receive one confirmation text, shown below.

The sign-in screen also shows a short notice under the mobile number field with the message rates, how to reply STOP or HELP, and links to the Terms and Privacy Policy.

Agreeing to texts is optional. You can continue by agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy alone.

Confirmation text after the person agrees:

Stop or get help

Reply STOP to any message to end all texts to that number. You get one reply: “You’re unsubscribed and won’t get more texts. Sign-in codes will come by email. Reply START to turn texts back on.”

A person can also switch texts off in their JobCostHQ preferences.

Records

We keep a record of how and when each person agreed to texts, who recorded it, and the wording they saw.

Read our text messaging terms and our privacy policy. We do not share mobile numbers or opt-in data with third parties for their marketing.
